M7 Televisió de Mallorca

Client: Grup Serra Year: 2002

Channel rebranding. This local television channel on the island of Majorca needed to revamp its brand image and identity in an effort to broaden its existing target viewer base and strive to attract a younger audience. The design process started with the new channel name "M7", with a brand project based on the letter "M" in Majorca and the strategic positioning on the television tuning dial of the number 7.

The new brand leverages essential references from the island, within the corporate color palette (blue and ochre in reference to the sea and the land) and in the movement of the filmed images which create a metaphor using water and the wind. 

The filming was done using a 16mm high speed camera and features individuals in open spaces thereby strengthening the idea of nature so inherent to the identity of the island. Typographical elements also correspond to these organic movements and are linked to the situations generating an essential image of magic and at the same time proximity.
