Overon

Client: Mediapro Year: 2006

Branding. Branding project for Overon, the company specializing in service provision of mobile broadcast, post-production and play-out, set up by Abertis Telecom, Mediapro and GlobeCast. We developed the corporate identity for the brand from the naming through to the logo design and graphic applications in a range of media: OB vans, stationery, work wear, web, etc.

With regard to the naming, the name chosen for the new company suggests the specialization in services associated with mobile broadcast and transportation infrastructures: Production and events broadcast/transmission, broadcasting via satellite, telecommunications centers, etc. It also suggests the brand values: reliability, immediacy, flexibility, and in addition, it has the nature of an international brand, in the capacity of a global operator. The name OVERON was finally chosen to bring together these concepts. OBERON is a natural satellite of the planet Uranus discovered in 1787 and named after the Shakespearean character of the same name from “A Midsummer Night’s Dream”. The word suggests other concepts specifically associated to the activity: OVER, above another; ON, connected, working.

The design itself, based on these ideas -“ON” (working), satellite, orbit, concentric broadcast- a very simple design was chosen: a dot of orange color within the second “o” in the logo, titled using Bliss Heavy typography. At the same time, the grey "o" with the central dot in orange act as a graphic symbol in the system of applications.
